The aim of the Student Leadership Program is to ensure that students have a variety of opportunities to experience authentic, positive leadership roles and develop their potential, during their schooling journey from years 7 to 12. A culture of leadership is encouraged through the provision of positions of responsibility and specific projects, which are structured to allow students to experience and develop the skills needed to carry out assigned tasks and projects in an effective manner. Initiatives are to align with the school values of Grit, Growth, Gratitude.
Leadership positions are available to students from all year levels, which focus on STUDENT WELLBEING and COMMUNITY SERVICE. A full school Student Council, with representatives from each year level and relevant student committees meet regularly throughout each term and is chaired by the Year 12 Student Council Executive.
Leadership workshops, leadership conferences and peer mentor training sessions are provided throughout the year, to students from all cohorts in the school, to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence. A Year 11 Leadership Camp also takes place mid-year as part of the recruitment and selection process for senior student leadership roles. The camp involves a variety of personal development and team building activities over three days.
