At Rochedale State High School, we are proud to have a dedicated group of caring homestay families who have played an invaluable role in supporting our international students over many years.

Each family is personally visited and inspected by school personnel. In line with the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian (CCYPCG) requirements, all household members over 18 must hold a current Blue Card.

Our international team staff maintain regular contact with homestay families, through visits and ongoing communication to offer support and guidance. This helps ensure that each student enjoys a warm, safe, and enriching home environment during their stay.

What does a Homestay host provide?

We are grateful for the important role our homestay families play in shaping positive experiences for our students. As a homestay provider, you are expected to provide:

  • A Private bedroom with desk and storage
  • Three meals a day & snacks
  • Internet access to support study requirements
  • A friendly and supportive home enviroment
  • English as the primary language spoken at home

Our homestay program encourages overseas students to become part of our school community and learn about Australian life, culture, and language, while forming meaningful connections with their homestay families.
