Sports

Rochedale State High School provides students with an extensive array of sports opportunities that complement their academic journey. The choices are diverse, ranging from traditional options such as Athletics, Cross Country, and Swimming to more unique selections like, Basketball, Touch Football, Volleyball, Netball, and a range of recreational activities such as Pickleball, and Spike ball, covering a spectrum of interests.

The history of sports at RSHS is a testament to the growth of student engagement and enthusiasm. Over the years, our sporting landscape has expanded, offering students a platform to participate in various competition structures and formats. These encompass Intra-School, Inter-School, District, Regional, State, and even National levels. The vibrant sports culture at RSHS not only complements academic learning but also fosters a sense of community, competition, and achievement, shaping well-rounded individuals ready to excel both inside and outside the classroom.

Ethos

The RSHS sporting department is dedicated to fostering a culture of pride among students as they proudly represent their school. Whether driven by a strong competitive spirit or simply a love for giving everything a try, RSHS strives to provide all students opportunities to find their passion and express their talents.

We firmly believe that every student can learn, improve, reach their potential, and achieve success within the sporting context. Our core values of Grit, Growth, and Gratitude underpin every endeavor, reflecting our dedication to nurturing holistic development and a resilient, thriving community.

Houses

Every student in the school is affiliated with one of our four school houses. These houses play a central role in significant sporting events such as Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics. In addition to these major carnivals, students actively engage in numerous inter-house competitions throughout the year including our student Vs teachers’ games, participating in various events across the calendar.
